Social meetings

These are held on the second Monday of the month at the Lytham Assembly Rooms commencing at 2.30pm and last at the most 2 hours. Volunteers arrive about 30 minutes beforehand. We provide light refreshments at the meeting and collect an entry fee.
The months are currently March, April, May, October and November and the annual AGM is also the second Monday in June but commencing at 7.30pm. We sometimes have an extra one in July and possibly September and the odd one at 7.30pm depending on the subject of the talk.and availability of the speaker.
For the Heritage meetings and AGM the volunteer roles include:-
  • Desk duty - collecting the entry fee and welcoming our visitors - AGM not required as no entry charge.
  • Helping at the beginning and end of the talk by putting out the chairs and tables as that is not something normally done for us.
  • Helping with refreshments including washing up at the end. The refreshments will be available, so just setting out cups and biscuits and serving.
  • Assisting in the organisation of the programme for the following year.
At the moment we do have a few willing volunteers but a bank of helpers would be useful.
