Heritage Centre

Lytham Heritage Group occupies the Grade II listed building which was originally built in 1899 for the Manchester and County Bank and later used by the Trustee Savings Bank.  In 1996 the Group purchased the building funded by a local benefactor.  With the Group’s own funding and grant aid, the interior has been enhanced by careful restoration and converted into an exhibition centre of considerable charm, providing a splendid backdrop of late Victorian architecture to complement the modern Piazza in the town centre.

A programme of heritage and art exhibitions is held each year from February to December. Opening times are from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Admission to the Centre and exhibitions is FREE but donations are welcome.

A collection of panels spanning the history of Lytham – Our Town – is situated in the ‘St Cuthbert Gallery’.  The main gallery is available to art societies, individual artists, local schools and community groups.  The Group’s Heritage exhibitions are also held on various aspects of local history.

A selection of books about the town and its history are available for sale inside the centre.
