Storm damage in 1977

A severe storm occurred on 11/12 November 1977 flooding Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Pilling Moss. Luckily the sea wall to the east of Lytham had just been rebuilt and raised as the sea came nearly up to the top. The pictures out on the marsh give an idea of how bad flooding would have been in the past as the 1977 flood came near to the top of the embankment.
