The bus shelter at the end of Green Drive marked the end of the route for the number 4 bus.
Quote from one of the men (at Squires Gate tram depot) who built the shelter:
“The Green Drive bus shelter was toastrack No. 23. It was installed in the middle of 1930s. We cut off both ends and sealed up one side, even used the old bench seats. Left the roof on, covered with felt. Even left the old front glass in.”
The shelter was removed in July 1976 and replaced by the present brick one.
